Tea Ideas

Locally conceived and home brewed, Tea ideas Pte Ltd is a social enterprise that aims to uplift the social, mental & physical well-being for elderly & renal patients with our Tea.

We adopt flexible working arrangements and redesign our work processes to accommodate our beneficiaries needs.

We also emphasize & advocate a healthy lifestyle by innovating how one drinks their tea and creating delicious tea-inspired desserts that are “diabetic-friendly” with reduced sugars. Focused on healthy gourmet tea, the firm wants to evangelize the benefits of drinking tea by applying innovation to the finest teas found.

To detractors who feel that drinking tea is troublesome because they have to contend with tea leaves or dispose of teabags, Tea ideas has the perfect answer – tea wands. The Patented Tea Wands, which resemble square sticks of candy, marry the convenience of a teabag with the functionality of a teaspoon.

They are also drip dry and so convenient, it’s a wonder no one has thought of this before!

Jacinta Ong

Co-founded Tea ideas as a Social Enterprise since 2012.

Jacinta's vision is to empower every individual to live their lives healthily, with dignity. Despite having no prior knowledge about tea, Jacinta took the leap into the industry with this strong belief. This has proven to be her winning formula.

In her own words: "We can try any new ideas with tea. One Tea, Many Possibilities!" That's how the name Tea ideas was conceived!

Your Health. Our Tea. Our Inspiration.

Animal Human Alliance

Animal Human Alliance LLP (AHA) is founded by animal rescuers.
The company has 2 brands Gold-D and AHA.

Gold-D offers pet food and products, many of which are developed from the experience gained from our rescue work.

AHA offers pet-safe home care products that are safe for both humans and animals.

Our background makes us unique in the pet food industry and we have exported our brands to Malaysia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, UK, and Greece. More countries are on the way.

In every market we are in, we support and work with local rescue groups and feeders. In Singapore, the business supports our rescue work. We do palliative care for cats, runs a FeLV sanctuary and rescue work.

It is a loop. The rescue work brings insights for new products and the business supports our rescue work.

Today, customers have high expectations of brands and there is a general shift from major brands to brands customers feel is passionate about animal welfare. We are well-positioned in this change as this is what our business is all about!

We look for like-minded partners to bring Gold-D and AHA brands to more countries.

Chan Chow Wah

Chan has a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute, UK. His interest in animal welfare started when he adopted 2 cats in early 2000. It began his journey in rescue work leading to the founding of the Gold-D and AHA brands.

With the business as a foundation, he explores various avenues to raise issues of animal welfare. For example with photo exhibitions, film production, talks, and even a fine fragrance for animal lovers, etc. His ethnographic films on animal welfare raise money and food for shelters and rescuers. The films have won awards in various international film festivals.

He has since set up a sanctuary for FeLV cats and also offers palliative care for animals in the last chapter of their lives.

The brand revolves around rescue work, founded by a rescuer, feature animals who were once abused, abandoned, or badly neglected.

Through this approach, the brand has attracted both pet owners, animal lovers, and rescue groups.
Chan sees the brand as an avenue to engage society and effect positive change for the benefit of humans and animals.

Arts Kidz Pre School

Arts Kidz International Pre- School takes a unique approach to learning in the early years. Our specially designed programme integrates curriculum essentials such as literacy and numeracy with the wonder of the Arts and the richness of language, giving your child a well-rounded and enriching educational experience.

In 2008, Arts Kidz opened its first campus in Tiong Bahru. The school’s unique approach to learning and specially designed curriculum quickly made an impression on the surrounding community and thanks to word-of-mouth and glowing referrals from the school`s pioneer parents, the number of students steadily grew. Before long, Arts Kidz had had over 100 children from nations including Singapore, the USA, the UK, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Today preschool runs two campuses: Arts Kidz Pre-School at Raeburn Park and Arts Haus International at Pearl`s Hill Terrace, looking forward to bring creative learning to new locations in Singapore and around the world.

Our S.M.A.R.T. learning curriculum helps to empower students for a limitless future. Carefully curated to ignite a passion for learning in children so they can thrive in any environment, especially amidst today`s ever-changing world.

Developing global citizens is part of our international pre-school’s mission statement. This includes the environmental integrity component. Lessons on healthy lifestyle, environmental actions, horticulture, nature and physical education. All these sessions encompass S.E.A.L. (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) and build confidence through team building, resilience and relationships for community collaboration.

As part of our commitment to getting the next generation of environmental stewards excited about how they can make a big difference through small actions, Arts Kidz International has partnered with both the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and most recently Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS - Singapore Zoo). Together with WWF we organised the beach cleaning walk with our students and their parents. In 2020 we adopted the tree in Singapore Zoo to support sustainability and growth.

Christina Koh Kok Min

Arts Kidz International Education Group was conceived in 2008 by Ms Christina Koh. Inspired by her own two children that attended enrichment classes during their kindergarten period years and concerned by the number of young children who were involved in countless enrichment programmes after school hours, Christina’s vision was for a school offering a well-rounded educational experience for children while still maintaining the beauty, time and freedom of childhood. She therefore decided to bring the “enrichment” into the classroom by incorporating specialist classes, such as Arts, Music and Movement, Violin and Mindfulness, into her pre-school programme. At a time when most Singapore-based preschools focused on just one aspect of child development, Christina foresaw the need for a school offering a holistic pre-school programme.

Giving back is an integral part of Christina’s business philosophy. In regards to charity work, Arts Kids International Education Group have founded partnerships with a range of non-profit organisations including World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) and Wildlife Reserves Singapore.

Our Unique Pain Management Approach

Minimally invasive pain relief techniques bridge the gap between using open surgery which may entail higher risks and longer recovery periods, and conservative physical therapies which may not be as immediately effective, to treat pain.

These techniques are in the form of specialised injections and small ports to either laser and burn away the pain problem and/or desensitise painful nerves to allow for regeneration of normal nerve function.

Honour (Singapore)

About Honour (Singapore)

Honour (Singapore) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting a culture of Honour and Honouring.
We are a citizen-led initiative, founded by concerned citizens and guided by a multi-racial and multi-religious panel of community advisors.

A nation where Honour and Honouring are well understood and widely practised

To seek the well-being of the nation by promoting a culture of Honour and Honouring

Why Honour?

Honour (Singapore) is motivated by two concerns about the future of Singapore:

1. Honour as Singapore’s Blueprint for Success

The blueprint for Singapore’s success in the last 50 years has been that of human imagination and hard work, as well as the courage to be different and unique –– founded on honour, integrity and trust. In other words, that we are a people who can be trusted to deliver on our promises.
Such a culture of honour remains essential for Singapore’s future. This is still the blueprint for Singapore’s continued survival and success.

2. Honour as an Enabler for Constructive, Respectful Debate

We can expect increasingly robust debates and social action on a widening array of national issues. There must be a strong vein of honour and mutual respect between individuals and groups, even when there may be sharp differences in views. This enables respectful, constructive debate over issues of national life.

Trust determines the quality of relationships in our community and society. Honour is the foundation of trust.

We believe a culture of honour and honouring should be our compass as we head, as always, into the uncharted waters of our future.

Lim Siong Guan

Mr Lim Siong Guan is a professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, and a Senior Fellow of the Singapore Civil Service College.

Having joined the civil service in 1969 as an engineer, he served two Old Guard Ministers – former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and former Deputy Prime Minister Goh Keng Swee – during his 37-year career with the civil service. He has described both leaders as his master teachers.

Citing Dr Goh Keng Swee in particular as his role model for leadership, Mr Lim is a great believer in the need for critical thinking, imagination and courage, as well as the urgency of being in time for the future. Because leadership is about “making good things happen”, he believes that, by definition, leadership must recognise values and principles, and that values form the compass for organisations entering into unknown territory.

Mr Lim has served as Group President of GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, Advisor to the GIC Group Executive Committee, Head of the Singapore Civil Service, Permanent Secretary in the ministries of Defence, Education and Finance and in the Prime Minister’s Office, and as Chairman of the Economic Development Board and various other government agencies.

Prior to his retirement from the civil service in 2006, he was recognised for his ability to draw out talent and for inspiring younger officers to innovate and excel. Mr Lim has compiled key lessons from his life experiences and his leadership insights into a book he co-authored, “The Leader, The Teacher And You: Leadership Through A Third Generation”, which co-won the Singapore Literature Prize for English Non-fiction in 2014. He is also co-author of the book “Winning with Honour: In Relationships, Family, Organisations, Leadership, and Life”.

A frequent speaker on the topic of leadership and change management, Mr Lim is a member of the Board of Directors of Wilmar International Ltd. He chairs Swiss Re Asia Ltd. and is a member of the International Board of the stars Foundation in Switzerland, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes development of next generation leaders.

He is an alumnus of the University of Adelaide, Australia, which he attended on a President’s Scholarship and graduated with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering in 1969. He attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore in 1975. Mr Lim was awarded the Order of Nila Utama (First Class) in 2006.

The Wellness Fellows

The Wellness Fellows Pte Ltd was set up in March 2020. Due to the Covid-19 situation there was a sudden shortage of masks in the global and local context.

We are a Made-In-Singapore surgical mask factory with monthly capacity of 10 million masks serving the community and we have been proudly manufacturing surgical masks for Singaporeans since July.

This Covid-19 situation has seen a handful of entrepreneurs starting up masks supply chain in Singapore - however we have always believed the Singapore Brand Mark will take us further to establish quality and credibility. To celebrate our 55 years of Nation Building, we present our Limited Edition SG55 Surgical Mask as our first product. This is to commemorate A Stronger Singapore, in celebration of our heroes, our steadfast spirit and resilience in all times. We express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all Singaporeans in keeping us all safe and well.

Our English brand mark "The Mask Fellows" and Chinese name “温新” has been registered with IPOS. The Chinese name means Singapore, a country I warmly call Home.

Our Chinese tagline is 温新在口,幸福相守。This translates to "May blessings be with you, as you wear our made-in-Singapore mask".

Currently, we realised that close to 10 months have passed since Feb 2020, but Singaporeans are still not very well educated about the different standards of masks and what makes them differ in quality and price. Our next phase would be to go heavily into education by opening up our mask factory for educational tours for the schools and public so we can be well educated on the correct choice and wearing of masks.

Because we want to do everything right to ensure everyone who wears our masks are properly protected we have worked towards the following credentials: -

1. 'Made-in-Singapore' surgical mask and N95 masks Adult and child masks - blue, white, black, purple colours available.

2. We produced the highest-grade surgical mask that meets ASTM Level 3 and EN14683 Type IIR standard.

3. HSA license no: ES0501182 EN ISO 13485:2016 certified by SGS - license SGS20/8 1842088

4. We are honoured to have Dr Leong Hoe Nam as our Medical Advisor

5. ISO 7 Cleanroom - (probably Singapore most professional mask manufacturer and first to produce under ISO7 cleanroom condition, where the air is 100 time cleaner than regular air)

6. The Mask Fellows is the first corporate entity in the world to commit a portion of our sales proceeds to Extra•Ordinary People on a sustained basis to help empower individuals with special needs.

A discount to NGO, educators, students, healthcare personnel

7. Investment: >S$1.2 million; 8,500 sq ft factory space in Chai Chee

8. Total 6 lines - 4 surgical masks (3 adult and 1 child) + 2 N95 masks

9. Monthly production capacity - 10 million pieces of mask

10. A wall mural outside our factory wall (measures 3.2 m length x 2.8 m height) as our tribute to the global healthcare personnel and world leader. “Mask in Unity” – a tribute to global leaders and all heroes in various industries for doing an excellent job in fighting this pandemic together.

We believe that keeping individuals safe and well should be a sustainable effort and we look forward to supporting the community on a long term basis.

Daniel Chui

Mr Chui has been in the cruising and tourism industry for the past 25 years. He was set to launch a thematic cruise project this year, when Covid-19 struck and he was not able to operate any vessel. Badly hit and affected, he was also aware that his contemporaries in other countries were not spared the same fate - many international cruise brands were barred from operation and many crew were affected, not to say the entire cruise and travel industry.

Being familiar with shipping standards, he decided to set up a surgical mask factory called The Mask Fellows under the parent company The Wellness Fellows Pte Ltd with his brand director, Ms Jingle Chen, who has 15 years of brand building experience. They roped in another friend, Mr ST Chong, who also had a multitude of experience running a electronics factory to embark on this. Armed with no medical background, the trio was determined to step on a steep learning curve as everything was time sensitive. Coupled with the lockdown from April, renovation, logistics, import and renovation came to a standstill.

With many Medical Regulations and Directives around the world changing to respond to Covid-19, the team had to manage many complex paperwork to achieve the ISO 13485 certification by SGS, and also the HSA manufacturer's license to manufacture a medical device. They also invested in two ISO 7 Cleanrooms to ensure surgical masks were manufactured in a clean and hygienic environment.

For other traders and companies dealing with a mask that is not claimed as a medical device i.e NOT a surgical mask, their time to market was a shortcut. The Mask Fellows, was determined to hold true our mark of Quality - a Made-in-Singapore surgical mask that can stand international test standards which truly protect ourselves and loved ones.

Benjamin Wong

Being in the corporate law field where he has worked with a vast portfolio of small and large enterprises on legal and regulatory issues, Kien Leong is especially well-versed in the spectrum of business environments and knows first-hand about the challenges individuals face. Despite the stream of technology-led changes that have transformed how businesses grow and succeed, he noticed a lack of cost-effective and fuss-free cross-border payment platforms – a common issue which rings true among SMEs. Thus, Kien Leong co-founded TranSwap to empower businesses to scale globally by meeting their cross-border payments needs.

Users can even transact their vehicle through the app, view their latest vehicle details from LTA, compare the latest fuel prices, and get 24-hour valet and roadside assistance.

In 2020, we launched Co-Driver, a dedicated driving companion that sends real-time audio alerts when approaching Police enforcement camera zones. Developed in conjunction with the Traffic Police, Co-Driver was created to encourage safer driving among Singaporeans by discouraging reckless driving acts such as speeding.

I Can Read

The I Can Read System originally came about through research conducted between 1995 and 2000 by Antony Earnshaw and Annabel Seargeant.

It is structured, cumulative and hierarchical, and is the first system in the world to link clusters of letters to single sounds in a unique manner.

The I Can Read reading programme enables the student to see how letters combine to create invariant sounds and empowers the student to take control of his or her own reading progress.

I Can Read system teaches three essential skills that the new reader needs to succeed, phonemic awareness, phonics and blending sequences of phono-graphemes.

The I Can Read reading programme overcomes the difficulties that new readers have to combine letters into blended sounds. It overcomes the problem of knowing how to pronounce words when so many letters and clusters of letters can be associated with more than one sound.

Commencing with simple, straightforward words, the student progresses to learn more difficult phoneme combinations, building upon his or her successes along the way.
