About

Improving Lives

Business Model

Osteopore International is a Singapore medical device company that design, develop, manufacture and distribute 3D printed bioresorbable implants.  The technology combines the science of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine with 3D printing to produce implantable devices with a biomimetic microarchitecture that enable the body to regenerate tissue such as bone.  We collaborate with clinicians and researchers internationally to develop products that address unmet clinical needs, reduce healthcare cost, improve patient outcomes and enhance lives.

The product is synthetic (not from animal or human source), and made from a polymer, polycaprolactone, that gradually resorb over 18-24 months. We have demonstrated tissue regeneration in our patients through clinical publications and more than 50 research publications.

The company was incorporated in late 2003, and have been in the implant business for 16 years. Our products are CE marked, US FDA 510(k) cleared, and have an implantation record of more than 20,000 implants globally.

Professor Teoh Swee Hin,
President's Chair in
School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering & Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine,
Nanyang Technological University.

His research focused on the study of mechanisms that promote cells proliferation and differentiation as a result of mechno and/or eletro-magnetic induction through load bearing and conductive scaffolds for tissue regeneration and remodelling.

He did pioneering work in fracture-wear resistant biomaterials. He received the prestigious Golden Innovation Award, Far East Economic Review, and the Institute of Engineers Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award in 2004, for development of the platform technology for scaffolds in bone tissue engineering.

His group was ranked 1st in bone tissue engineering scaffolds in World Web of Science 2010. He was the Chairman, Singapore Academy, Asia Regulatory Professional Association (ARPA).

He sits in as board of editors Tissue Engineering, Journal of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, Journal of Mechanical Behaviour of Biomedical Materials and Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Research
