Social Entrepreneurship and Eco-park Development (SEED) @ Social Innovation Park (SIP) seeks to be the first integrated social playground for the exchange, prototyping and showcasing of innovative and inclusive solutions to social challenges. SEED is one of the platforms for change of Social Innovation Park (SIP), a Singapore registered, not-for-profit social enterprise that seeks to bring social innovations to life and societies.

SEED is also a social enterprise and a social innovator hub for Asia and beyond, leveraging on SIP’s global network to build a robust and dynamic social innovator community. SEED was born out of SIP in 2015 and was developed over 16000 sqm of bare land for social entrepreneurs and innovators. It is a unique, first of its kind, social enterprise model with a physical space that allows for co-creation of double bottom line businesses and community building of changemakers and social awareness.

It has demonstrated leadership for good and led the pack through innovating the traditional tenancy management business model for greater social value-add through co-creation and impact partnership with tenants, plugging a social sector ecosystem gap for experimentation and prototyping of double bottom line businesses that require a physical presence and by leveraging economies of scale of partnerships to build a community of changemakers and social awareness.

To date, SEED has positively impacted more than 400,000 people and incubated 35 social businesses, ranging from F&B restaurants, urban farms and recreational activity providers. During the unprecedented times of COVID-19, SEED has led the leadership for good for social change by supporting businesses and communities through giving activities during circuit breaker, launching webinar series #SIPUnitedCares and #UniteKindness campaigns to cultivate mental resilience among people and communities and our restaurants provided free meals to disadvantaged families. Together with our social businesses, we have kept and sustained 100 jobs amidst the covid crisis.
